On April 22nd, 2009 my Labrador Retriever/Doberman Pinscher mix, Sandy, was put to sleep. Her liver was failing. She was almost 13 years old. She had cancer, liver disease, a pulled tendon, and numerous 'fatty' tumors throughout her body. I grew up with her, and I miss her dearly.

On September 4th, 2009(which is my father's birthday), my Chesapeak Bay Retriever, which is actually my father's dog because I didn't like the dog at all, had an "accident" and was killed. I am not explaining the way it happened, for it is far to sad and I will get considered a 'horrible dog owner.'

My house feels sooo empty with only two dogs here. But I must say, my Dalmatian/Pit/Rottweiler mix is much happier without the Chessie. Though she does miss Sandy, a lot.

Not only do I not have two dogs, I also lost my cat. No, she isn't dead, thank god. My dog attacked her and broke her jaw in half a few months ago, and she was staying at my grandmother's house for recovery. I refuse to let her come home. I don't want anything bad to happen to her again.

On a positive note. My pit, Kane, had an agility trial and got second place and reserve champion. We also had an obedience trial & showmanship. He got 5th place in obedience, but got a second place ribbon, and he got first place in showmanship. Getting first place in showmanship, we had to show again and we got second place and reserve champion once again!(:
